Fresher here: should I learn Next.js or Java Spring Boot first?

Asked by Rahul S ·

Final-year CSE student from Tumakuru. I know basic JavaScript and some Java from college. Job listings in Bengaluru ask for both. With about six months before placements, which should I focus on to be employable?

Pick one and go deep rather than half-learning both. Build one complete project, with auth, a database, deployment and tests, in whichever you choose. Interviewers care far more about whether you can explain your design decisions than about the framework name.

Agree with Meera. One extra tip: whichever stack you choose, get very comfortable with SQL and Git. They show up in every stack, modern or legacy, and they're where many freshers are weakest. Our Launchpad programme on the careers page is designed around exactly this foundation-first approach.
